Hi and thanks for checking out my blog! My name is Carrie Bean and I’m an outreach consultant for Touchstone Consulting Group by day and fitness enthusiast and food lover by, well, all day and night. I am definitely a work to live and live to eat and workout type of person. The live to eat and workout part is not a part I see changing about myself and I’m pretty sure that has a lot to do with the success of the long-term relationship I’m in as he is fitness enthusiast and food lover just the same.
So, what was my motivation to start up this blog? Well, while my love for eating and working out values are pretty steadfast, I would like to change the work to live part of my life. Currently, I am working towards a Digital Marketing certificate program through New York University to better understanding my interests in the digital space of the marketing world and move towards those aspirations in my career. Thus, starting this blog is a great way for me to build a digital footprint for myself and gain experience in the blogosphere. Further, I am always sharing recipes and food pictures of healthy meals I make in or meals my boyfriend/number one food buddy, Bryan, and I eat out with friends and family. I also like to train for running races with friends and enjoy a wide array of fitness activities from cardio kickboxing to strength and conditioning classes to hot yoga. These activities all contribute to the name I chose for the blog, “Life as a Balanced Bean.” My last name is Bean as I mentioned before and I have many a nickname from it so it just had to be a part of the title. The balanced part of the name refers to the balanced lifestyle I aim to lead where I eat healthy for the most part and exercise often but have no problem indulging by the same token. This blog is also about sharing with my readers that everything in moderation can really fare well for people.
You will read about a lot of healthy and indulgent (and sometimes approaching gluttonous) cooking in and eating out experiences as well as some peppered in highlights about my workout adventures here. I hope that my experiences will keep you coming back for more! Please leave me your comments and questions often as I really want to connect with you.

This is awesome Carrie! I have become an avid blog reader and am excited to follow yours- especially since I am always looking for new healthy recipes to try
Best of luck and hope you and Erk are doing well!
Hi Amy! Thanks for your comment and I’m happy you’ll follow me. I’ll do my best to provide plenty of healthy meals to give a go- there will be plenty indulgent ones too though! Thanks again and I hope you’re doing great as well.
